The world of transportation in a school district can be a hectic, overwhelming experience. Snow, schedules, routes, and maintenance are just a few of the difficulties our Transportation/Maintenance Director, Ken Vining, faces on a daily basis. Fortunately, Ken is ably assisted by Shawn Keene, our Transportation Assistant. In one year’s time, Shawn has helped create a system of transportation for the students at MSAD # 36 that is efficient, on-schedule, and always in the best interests of children. Shawn is noted for her sunny disposition, and easy-to-talk-to professionalism. As a parent and involved local citizen, Shawn knows the people she serves. Moreover, she is proactive when it comes to meeting the needs of students, contacting parents, grandparents, and day-care providers to make certain that they arrive safely at their destinations. Compounding the complexity of this year’s schedule included implementing a double run. With our shift back to a single-run bus schedule for next year, Shawn Keene will again be on the radio, telephone, and computer to help make every child’s journey to and from MSAD # 36 a smooth ride.
